This is one of the oldest business centres of indo Tibet, and was the capital of bushahr Riyasat. Town have many temple of hindu god and goddess and also have Buddha Monastery in the middle of town other than this it have big palace of maharaja Padam Singh who was Father of Sh.Virbhadra Singh 6 time Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh.
Sarahan is picturesque village of himachal Pradesh. Old name Shonitpur known to be the capital of Demon King Banasur. Its a measure tourist destination in shimla district. The temple of Maa Bhimakali is the main attraction of this village. Bhima kali temple is one of the shakti pita out of 51. The villages have very elegant view of Shirikand Mahadev which is situated in Himalayas around 5200meters height.
Narkanda (50 km):(2708 m)
On the Hindustan Tibet road, Narkanda offers a spectacular view of higher snow ranges. An uphill trek (8 km) through deodar woods leads beholder to Hatu Peak famous for ancient Hatu Mata Temple (3475 m) which is now connected with a motorable road. During winter, under the aegis of HPTDC, skiing is also conducted here. Kotgarh and Thanedhar, Himachal's Apple heartland famous for delicious apples are located in vicinity.
Shimla (120 km):(2205 m)
Once a summer seat of British, Shimla is now the state capital of Himachal Pradesh. It has the rarest of the rare heritage buildings and monuments of the bygone area. Worth seeing places are - The legendary Mall Road, The Ridge, The Christ Church, Kali Bari Temple, Jakhu Hanuman Temple, Sankat Mochan, State Museum, Institute of Advanced Studies.
It is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 10,800 ft (3.120m) above the sea level, situated in the Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh. The pass is the nearest mountain pass from Delhi, approximately 600 km away, and features on every adventure tourist?s map. Jalori Pass is the first Indian pass to open every year. Just around 5km tracking from jalori pass through thick and beautiful mountains you can reach Seruvalsar Lake, It is a high altitude lake which is located in the district Kullu. It is about 3,100 metres above the sea level. This lake is surrounded by thick forest cover.
The Daranghati (50km)
It is located in Shimla District, Himachal Pradesh, India. It has undisturbed forest areas. Monal, Tragopan, Koklas and Kalij are the pheasants found here. Some of the common animals found here are Musk deer, Goral and Thar other than this we have very beautiful temple of Mata Shiraikoti(3150m) where from we can have panoramic view of snow covered mountains and beautiful surroundings of it.
Nathpa Jhakri Dam
The Nathpa Jhakri Dam is a concrete gravity dam on the Satluj River in Himachal Pradesh, India. The primary purpose of the dam is hydroelectric power production and it supplies a 1,500 megawatts (2,000,000 hp) underground power station with water. Before reaching the power station, water is diverted through a 27.4 km (17 mi) headrace tunnel. Construction on the project began in 1993 and it was complete in 2004.
